How do I make my character evolve?

In order to change your character’s physical or mystical abilities, you must obtain experience points. The experience points are won by fighting and killing enemies or completing quests. When you get experience points, a yellow number appears above your head indicating the number of points earned. When you get enough experience points, you gain a level. A distinctive sound (the sound of a gong being hit) is heard when you do.

In order to change your character, you may find very useful to obtain new objects such as weapons, armor and magical items, which will increase the physical or mystical abilities of your character. Objects are obtained the same way as experience, by fighting and killing enemies or completing quests, but also by a merchant in exchange for gold. Several merchants are scattered in cities and towns, you usually don’t have to look very far to find them.
